On the Cryptic Talks Radar: Tae Oh (Spacecoin)

Most Internet-based operations are becoming decentralized, and the wave has hit Internet access itself already. Spacecoin is offering decentralized, permissionless access to the Internet, where users can connect privately and without the need for centralized nodes like Starlink and Amazon Web Services. Founder Tae Oh explains the project, lessons learnt in development, and plans for 2026, including the Spacecoin TGE.

Spacecoin: Democratizing Internet Access

Just like everything cryptocurrency has touched, internet access is about to get decentralized. And with Spacecoin, the decentralization vision is not in the far future anymore; it is already here. The project intends to use blockchain-enabled satellites to power a decentralized network where users can communicate freely without permission.

Spacecoin promotes decentralization ideals in the face of people losing their voices due to manipulation and failures in centralized networks. With a fully permissionless platform, everyone has equal access to the internet, enabling connections from anywhere in the world without the challenges of censorship or loss of privacy.

The project is based on three engineering components: blockchain, space hardware, and telecommunications systems. Telecommunications systems are designed specifically for Spacecoin, and they inform the kind of space hardware that is incorporated into the satellites. The blockchain interface, comprising smart contracts and node coordination processes, is then built and layered on the existing telecom networks to establish a seamless platform that is accessible to users.

For clarity, Spacecoin’s satellites are custom-built for the project, as the platform will not be running on existing satellites that have been previously launched into space. The development process has been a steep learning curve for the Spacecoin team, and founder Tae Oh expounds on the hurdles, the lessons, and the Spacecoin Token Generation Event (TGE) slated for later this month.

Spacecoin: Lessons in Operations

Decentralizing internet access using satellite hardware has been quite the innovation, and while Spacecoin has been a success, the developmental process has produced critical lessons for the team.

The first satellites, CTC0 and CTC1, launched in 2024 after several challenges in the production stages. Immaturity of the supply chain caused inconsistent quality of components and delays in deliverables, often requiring rigorous testing and workarounds to ensure that the product met the expected standards.

Satellite manufacturing is less standardized compared with consumer electronics, hence the extra attention to quality and patience during the satellite production stages.

The silver lining from the experience, according to Tae, was that the project got easier, especially in terms of subsequent productions. While the challenges with quality and delivery timelines affected the development of the first satellite, the Spacecoin team built adequate relationships with suppliers, making the deliverables better for the next batch of assemblies.

Production costs were cut down to a third of what they cost to build the first satellite, indicating progress in learning from the inadequacies in the initial experience. Challenges like these are typical of pioneer space infrastructure projects, but the lessons learnt have set the stage for more scalable, easily affordable production phases in the future.

The Spacecoin Community and Token Generation Event

Community building and engagements have been primarily incentivized on Spacecoin. The project has rolled out several airdrop events across multiple seasons to create awareness among crypto-native users and build a following among them.

So far, the rewards programs have served their purpose, setting the stage for the upcoming Token Generation Event (TGE) on the Spacecoin ecosystem.

In anticipation of the token launch, Spacecoin has also acquired a partnership with Blockchain.com (announced in December 2025). Blockchain.com has a strong audience in both developed and emerging crypto markets, and it will be giving Spacecoin the visibility, distribution channels, and liquidity support that the project needs to hit the ground running.

What’s more, the partnership enhances Spacecoin’s credibility, as the tokens will be accessible to institutional players immediately they launch.

Spacecoin TGE

The Spacecoin Token Generation Event is slated for January 2026, representing the project’s readiness to transition from vision-building to execution. Apparently, the building doesn’t end here. There will be a continuation of technological development to suit and meet user demands, but the next is here; Spacecoin is ready for the markets.

Furthermore, Tae defined what a successful TGE will be for the project. For Spacecoin, the exact launch timing and price peaks don’t matter, which is why the date is still left flexible. The success of the Spacecoin TGE is tied to the activity on the chain; a high number of traders and active discussion around the project and its utility are the metrics for success as far as the Spacecoin launch is concerned.

Post-TGE, the team is prioritizing technology advancements, key partnerships, and financial structures to support the ongoing growth. The blockchain engineers are preparing the Starmesh product for user experience, telecom engineers are developing patent applications for network designs to protect intellectual property in the ecosystem, and the space engineers are commissioning and software testing the CTC1 satellite for in-orbit readiness. Tae, on his own end, is coordinating activities between all three teams while securing partners and treasury support for the ecosystem activities.

Parting Words: Impact and Vision

The decentralized internet access that Spacecoin provides is a step forward in ensuring the free flow of information, even between humans and machines. With such freedom to access information anywhere in the world, there will be no centralized control over connectivity, ensuring that every user has an equal opportunity to be heard on the internet.

With real space hardware technology and the underlying blockchain infrastructure, Spacecoin is democratizing internet access, promoting crypto values, and transforming the global society. These are the project’s philosophical objectives, and they are guiding every step of the operation, from vision-building to the execution stages.
